Volvo's well-deserved reputation for safety; seating for seven people; go anywhere utility; clean attractive styling; efficient engine; innovative hybrid availability
Following a full redesign in 2016, the Volvo XC90 hits 2017 with few changes. For starters, the SUV will benefit from and update to its Pilot Assist II driver assistance technologies, allowing the XC90 to steer and brake autonomously at speeds up to 80 mph. Run-off road mitigation and large animal detection have also been added to the XC90's City Safety software. Also, a new 4-seater luxury trim, the XC90 Excellence, has been added to the range. It comes with a plug-in hybrid powertrain and puts a premium on rear seat comfort, with heated and cooled massaging seats, small tables, and a refrigerator. It is priced at about $105,000.
