Test Drivers Describe the 2017 Genesis G90

Hyundai has been a community favorite for many years, and now test drivers have the opportunity to take a look at one of the most successful and innovative models available for the new year. The 2017 Genesis G90 promises to continue innovating, particularly for those who love the mid-sized luxury sedan category.

The first thing that drivers noticed was the price tag. At almost $70,000, this is not a vehicle meant to be purchased for casual driving, but it is to be expected with such an innovative name. The vehicle is equipped with pretty much all of the external and internal features expected at such a price. Individuals get a choice of engine options, including the readily available 365 horsepower 3.3-liter turbocharged V6 engine or the 420 horsepower 5.0-liter V8 engine. Both engines come with all wheel drive, and both are paired with an eight-speed automatic transmission. Drivers only need to choose the paint color and the vehicle comes equipped with everything else.

Like many other vehicles in its class, the G90 features a stately style that is nonetheless subdued and easy to observe. It is not designed to turn heads, but it does showcase a respectable chassis that makes it a sight for sore eyes on busy streets. It breaks away from the mold, and there is plenty of room inside the car to provide passengers with comfort for longer drives. There is an ample amount of legroom and the seats are climate controlled to establish an even more comfortable way for drivers to enjoy longer drives.

In addition to the beautifully functional interior, drivers can also look forward to the impressive level of detail to all other features within the vehicle. Everything from the Napa leather to the real metal and wood trim adds style and value to the inside of the car. The control console is a desirable pick for those interested in a more vintage style, as buttons make up a large percentage of the controls. Those interested in a more modern panel can look forward to an updated touchscreen system.

When it came to the ride quality itself, drivers were particularly pleased with the way the vehicle handled. The G90 also cruises comfortably on steel springs, with adjustable dampers that can allow drivers to firm up the ride as they want. The vehicle was never intended to handle like a sports car, but there is plenty of power behind the silent motor, resulting in a smoother ride that adds overall value to the experience. Drivers were tremendously pleased with the results, and many fans of the brand are looking forward to owning one of these vehicles as soon as it is readily available.
