There's a New Lexus in Town

There’s a new Lexus in town. Christened the UX, this new little compact crossover is available in two forms: the front-wheel drive UX 200 and the all-wheel drive hybrid UX 250h. The great thing about investing in a Lexus is along with it being comfortable and fun to drive, the car brand offers a high level of reliability and resale value.

With a starting price of $32,000, this is one of the most affordable Lexus models. The vehicle presents a sporty and modern exterior appearance. It’s also no slouch when it comes to the interior, with enough space to fit five people. Soft materials and understated styling make the inside of the vehicle comfortable while the inclusion of an infotainment system ensure that occupants have access to the latest vehicle technology. Those who purchase the UX 200 will have 21.7 cubic feet of space in the cargo area while buyers who go with the UX 250h will have 17.1 cubic feet of space. Less space is available in this model because of the battery pack used to make it a hybrid.

Three trim levels are available with the 2019 Lexus UX: Base, Luxury, and F-Sport. Another nice thing about getting a Lexus is that even the Base model is pretty well-equipped. With the UX, the carmaker included amenities like a faux-leather interior, the company’s safety system and LED headlights. The model also comes with different drive modes like Sport, Normal, and Eco. Tech accessories include Apple CarPlay and Amazon Alexa in addition to four USB ports and Wi-Fi. Buyers can upgrade to a Lexus UX Premium package that comes with a moonroof, rain-sensing windshield wipers, and heated and ventilated front seats that have a memory feature.

For the F-Sport trim, Lexus is equipping the vehicle with gear like 18-inch wheels, bolstered front seats, and a sport-tuned suspension. This trim also gets a bigger 8-inch infotainment system display. Buyers can upgrade to an even bigger 10.3-inch screen if needed or wanted.

Lexus is offering two powertrains with the SUV. The UX 200 features a 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine that produces 169 horsepower and 151 pound-feet of torque. With the UX 250h hybrid, the carmaker paired the four-cylinder engine with a battery-operated electric motor. Together, the two motors give the vehicle 181 horsepower. Both models include a continuously variable automatic transmission.

Lexus is offering plenty when it comes to the vehicle model’s optional equipment. Vehicle buyers can upgrade their compact-crossover with features like blind-spot monitoring, acoustic front glass for an especially quiet cabin and a power rear tailgate. In the compact crossover segment, the Lexus UX is one of the top picks. Sporty, comfortable, and affordable, the little luxury SUV has much to offer.
