Volvo 90 Series Vehicles Slotted to Receive Safety Changes

Safety is always a prime concern for auto manufacturers. Every year, new safety features are rolled out for vehicles, designed to not only help drivers deal with the damage that could occur in the event of an accident, but also maintain better visibility conditions in order to avoid the accident in the first place. For many automakers, their dedication to safety is a passion that helps limit potential dangers on the road.

Recently, Volvo has taken the opportunity to optimize their own vehicles’ internal systems. In addition to making the driving process easier and more exhilarating for their 90 series, they are also planning on updating the safety features for their S90, XC90 and V90 Cross Country. These updates are designed to improve what is already seen as a relatively high level of connectivity and safety in order to provide drivers with the peace of mind they need to conquer highway and city driving.

Some of the new features that Volvo is interested in adding to their vehicles include the Slippery Road Alert feature and the Hazard Light Alert. Both of these vehicle-to-vehicle communication systems allow drivers to focus on current road conditions to stay on top of any potential hazards. The slippery road function allows drivers to plan ahead for more careful driving in inclement weather conditions to avoid slipping and fishtailing. The hazard lights alert allows drivers to know when they have their lights switched on.

Currently, these features only function between different Volvo cars, but it is a small preview of what future driving will be like when cars from all types of brands can work together to share information regarding road and traffic conditions. These changes promise to be some of the biggest and most powerful available, capable of improving communications between drivers and making sure that everybody has a chance to stay on top of potential dangers on the road.

In terms of connectivity, Volvo is also working with Android Auto smartphone integration, in addition to Apple CarPlay, to provide drivers with a way to stay connected to their smartphone systems. This is a particularly desirable update that can allow drivers to stay in touch with all of their connected systems, optimizing infrastructure and information. With such features readily available, it is easy to see why so many are looking forward to future updates from automakers.
